Yummies: Spa Water~ Soooo Good!

What could be better then clean, fresh, cold water? It is honestly our favorite drink. We have it at every meal. Simple and refreshing. We love it just as it is.

But sometimes when you go to the spa and they have an ice cold pitcher of water flavored with cucumber and lemon.... Well, now that is heaven.
But you don't have to wait around for an expensive trip to the spa to get your "Spa Water", you can make it right at home.

I love nothing more then to fill a pitcher with water and ice, slice up some cucumbers and some lemon and set it in the fridge for just those moments when thirst strikes!

You can infuse your water with pretty much any delicious fruit you can dream of.

Strawberries...

Peaches...
Blueberries....

Maybe even just a handful of mint at the bottom of your pitcher? You can't get much easier then that.

This one looks delicious...

Kiwi-Lime-Mint infused water... So perfect for a back-yard party, even if you are the only guest.

Ingredients6 cups chilled still water or seltzer water
• 12 slices unpeeled cucumbers (thin slices)
• 4 slices limes (thin slices)
• 4 sprigs fresh mint, 2 inches long, slightly crushed

• 2 Kiwis (thin slices)

Sometimes the most simple things in life are the best things in life.

If you are making your own "Spa Water" make sure you wash your fruit before cutting it up... You want to make spa water, not blah water.

Of course you are going to need a pretty pitcher!
Here are a few of our favorites.

Because Miss Me is a mommy... Everything in her house is slowly turning to plastic, that is to say. Why would you ever buy a glass pitcher when you know your 4 year old is just itching to pull it right off the table as soon as you set it down.

Spilled "Spa Water" is one thing.. Bloody little toes, are quite another. So you can imagine how excited she was to see that Pottery Barn has these pretty acrylic drink dispensers!

But for the toddler free homes, or the mothers-who-are-braver-then-I.... This beautiful clear glass pitcher is so classic it hurts.

You can find yours at Williams Sonoma.

Making these delicious infused waters is really so simple, but if you are looking to get a little fancy, or just for some new ideas..

Try checking out Cool Water...

Oh! Calm down Lost Lovers... We are not talking about THAT cool water, but yea, you are welcome all the same.

We are talking about this yummy Cool Water recipe book, with 50 different ideas for delicious water.

As we enjoy our beautiful and fresh water, we should be beyond grateful that we live in a place where clean fresh water is at our finger tips.

Much of the world is not so lucky.

This is not to bum you out though, because guess what?! You can help!

Monday: The fountain of youth....

For centuries now the legend of a fountain or spring that will restore the youth to any that drink from it's waters has been told.

In 1513 Ponce De Leon lead an expedition in search of this exact fountain, instead he found Florida... And since Miami is now one of the leading places to get great (and no-so-great) plastic surgery, he may not have been that far off.

But could it be true that such a magical fountain exists? And if so, why has no one ever found it? And if this fountain were in fact real, what would the consequence be if you were if fact young forever? And not in a sexy romantic Edward and Bella way, but more like in that movie with Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep, Death Becomes Her.

(Sorry, but Miss Me & Miss t.w.h friendship contract insists that we put as many photos of Edward as possible.)

What if you did drink from the fountain of youth and it all went so terribly wrong?

Hmmm, so many questions to ponder as another Birthday passes us by.
The truth is, and I never would have dreamed it true... But I feel better and more confident at "thirty-something" then I ever did at "twenty-anything".

Of course it is scary to see little fine laugh lines and little smile crinkles appear on my face where none used to live.... But, shouldn't I be happy that at least I don't have frown lines and worry creases? That must mean life has been pretty good so far.

Of course that is not to say I am giving up on all my creams and lotions and whatever potions I can find to help keep me looking as young as I can! I am just saying be confident, not silly!

The fountain of youth is really found in taking care of yourself and loving yourself, and that means all sorts of things.
Do things that make you feel good, eat yummy salads, go for walks in the park with your lover, laugh till water comes out of your nose... Hey maybe that IS the fountain of youth!
Drink lots of water to keep your skin soft.

But most of all, have fun! Laugh at yourself. Don't be to serious! If you are gonna have to be an old lady one day, be a rad old lady with a sassy sense of style!

Remember, not everything about being young is so great.... Check out these thighs!

No Bueno: Dimples (the tushy kind, not the cute face kind)

Uuuugghhhh!!

Cellulite is a for sure NO Bueno!  And it's not No Bueno because we think its yucky on other people (we are not mean and hey, we got it too), but today it is a No Bueno because I have it and hate it!

SO this post is really dedicated to my tushy.

Most of us have it (well, not Miss Me) but most everyone has it.  Skinny or not, in shape or not, muscular or not..we got it.  And we hate it..right ladies?!?

So here are a few ways for the summer time sheding of the clothes, to maybe help us get rid of or hide our dimples.

And let's not get crazy nuts about it...it's really not a huge deal it's just annoying so there is no need to dwell...let's just try to make ours a little less noticable.

Try water!

Yup... tests show that more water in your life will help to flush toxins and help the body fight fat!  Yippie!  Clearer skin and tush!
P.S. Use a refillable H2O bottle..better for you and the planet!

Try lotions!
This Nivea cream was voted best Anti Cellulite cream on the market.  And the tests show that is works!  WOooo hoooo.
A little self love massage is for sure in order with this lotion.  You can get it here and there is a little info on it too ;)

Try sunless tanners!

Ya know we lurve 'em and they for sure help to hide our bumpy little butt skin.
I am quite sure as a loyal reader you went here already but just incase go again or go for the 1st time and see which ones we heart the bestest.

Try these shoes!
My sister-in law swears by her MBT Shoes (present anyone?) and so do a lot of scientific tests too.  Go here for full benefits that go waaay beyond just that annoying orange peel skin!

Try saying.."Screw it!  I am beautiful just the way I am".  Because you are!
