Windsor Castle Garter occasion is not just an elite fashionista, she is also a wise shopper with a futuristic vision. She never hesitates in repeating her dresses, she doesn’t feel waffles in borrowing a dress from her mother and doesn’t even feel shy of wearing someone else’s style. Even Queen Elizabeth II also praises and loves her for her quality of being so thrifty.
And this adorable quality of skillfully using the resources was always there in her. Even before her marriage to Prince William, Kate set the examples of a down-to-earth simple girl with elective but not over expensive fashion choice.
Recently Kerry Taylor Auction House has announced the auction of two of the hats Kate had worn at some point of time. The hats were important as they were worn by her while her visits to William. Kate knew that buying the hats was no way a useful thing as she couldn’t take care of them so she hired the head accessories for a one time use – what a thoughtful idea!
The first hat was from Philip Somerville. This black and white disc-shaped straw hat with horsehair brim and feather plums was hired by her for the Windsor Castle Garter occasion. It was in June 2008 when Duke William was invested the Knight of the Garter that Kate attended the ceremony in a distinctive fashion style.
In 2010 just before the announcement of their engagement in November, Kate attended the wedding ceremony of William’s friend Harry Meade. This time she hired a black Aurora picture hat to leave her about-to-be princess effect. And not to mention she elegantly marked the imprints as the future princess of Britain.
Both the hats are expected to fetch £1,000 to £1,500 each.
It wasn’t only her dresses and hats that showed her thrifty way but her acceptance for the sapphire engagement ring and sapphire and diamond earrings given by Prince William also showed that she values the emotions and know how to care for a precious piece that is close to someone’s heart.
