In honor of our Mother Earth and in honor of Decor Day here at Things We Heart we decided to go green (which, btw we always try to do but sometimes it gets tricky!!!)
OK...so we decided the worst task in the world...something we all have to do...NO, not shower stinkies...the worst task by far is cleaning!!!
Right??? Ugghhh so many hours could be saved in the week if only we didn't have to clean.
But if we all did have Rosies in our lives we would still need to find a way to clean naturally...greenly for the Earth.
And that is why we are here...to show you the ropes on how to greenify your home starting from the ground (and counters and showers) up!
Chooo chooo...the green goddesses are off!
Now the verdict is still out on if the most recognizable brand of "green" cleaners is still out.
Clorox, yes the bleach people have jumped on the "green" train and served up a bunch of "natural" products. Since there are no Govt. standards on how natural a cleaning product has to be to be natural they can get away with it. Buuuut the sites we have read do not buy what they have to "sell"
**side note**
Wow!! We sure love "quotation marks" today
**end side note*
And her Geranium scent...TDF! We love to use their counter top cleaner daily. It makes the whole kitchen smell yummy!
They also make an amazing all purpose cleaner that can be used for most anything in your house like....floors, bathrooms, kitchens and counters...
It comes in that super smelly good geranium scent we heart too!
Method...probably the most well recognized of "green clean".
We love to use their free and clear laundry soap.
We love to use their free and clear laundry soap.
Now you can buy their home cleaning kit filled to the brim with everything you need to have a spic n span green home!
While stalking the aisles at our local green grocer, we came across these crazy cute laundry packets called, Dropps.
They look like dishwasher packets but for the laundry. Easy on your skin but tough on dirt. Get them at your 1 stop shop for all things natural at The Ultimate Green Store.

It's even fun just browsing around at all the organic stuff they have to offer. Even furniture!!!
We love this next brand for its huuuge array of everything you need to clean and they fact that they are 100% Vegan and cruelty free (BTW every brand should be at least cruelty free by now...are you listening PROCTOR & GAMBLE!!!???)
Sun & Earth offers everything green from dish and laundry soap to fabric softener (yay!) and stain removers!
Now for our most favorited brand eva....
Seventh Generation and their crazy amazing huge spread of everything under the kitchen sink (and cupboards and closets) from Dish soap (we use everyday and it works BETTER than Dawn or the others) and laundry stuff to tampons and paper towels.
They are one brand who you should be excited to have in every corner of your home. We love their plant and mineral derived ingredients!
OMFG how uberly, eco-ly, crazily, cute is this Eco Me home cleaning kit?!?!?!?!?!?
If this doesn't convince even the scroogiest of eco scrooges then nothing can.
It comes with all you need...just add water, oil baking soda and vinegar ;)
You can get it at Organic Authority along with literally all you need to know about Green Living tips.
Here are our 2 top fave websites for DIY (come on...you knew there would be DIYs...we can't resist...and neither should you for that matter!!)
Earthnotes and Care2 have recipes for your at home DIY naturally green home cleaning kits. Wooo hooo!
Still not sure if you wanna go "green"? Maybe the sweet earth loving people at Charity Guide can with their breakdown of the chemicals found in most household cleaners....Oh and a list of the problems they cause to us and the Earth
P.S. Our most favorite Eco friendly site to read daily is Green Grown and Sexy. It's a fantastically fun and crazy hip and edgy site dedicated to going green.
It ain't yo mama's "green" site. Go see for your self!!!
P.P.S. Still need a bit o' help with Green Cleaning? The Idiots at The Idiots Guides have just the thing for you.
P.P.P.S. Still not convinced???? really??? Seriously?! Ok...then maybe this will help!!!
Non Natural or Green Cleaners ...cause or contribute to cancer, respiratory problems, reproductive abnormalities, allergic reactions, and behavioral problems, among other issues. Ingredients from household cleaning products make their way into the environment through various routes: they are flushed down toilets, poured down sinks, sprayed into the air, thrown into the trash, and dumped onto the ground. In fact, many hazardous cleaning products are landfilled or incinerated, upon which they release their toxins into the environment and contribute to depletion of the ozone layer, pollute groundwater, contaminate the soil, and harm plant and animal life.
We love you...we love the Earth...shouldn't you? She is all we got.
