Yummies: Say CHEESE!!!

Yummy, oh so yummy! So bad for you we know "Skinny Bitch" we know... But we just can't help ourselves! If you are having a party and you really want the gals from Things-We-Heart to come, then all you have to do is include these two words in the invite.... Cheese plate.

Done and done, we are at your party.

Now, over the years we have learned that a really good cheese plate should be made up of at least 3-5 different cheeses. You should also be sure to mix up textures, hard, soft, crumbly, etc. also use cheeses made from different kinds of milk, goat & cow. (Sorry goats and cows!) Plan on about 5 oz. per guest.

I also learned from the "Cheese Plate Master" a.k.a my friend Stacy, that besides crackers, you should offer your guests other goodies along with the cheese. Namely, Marcona almonds from Trader Joes and Quince paste. I know, but trust me, it is unbelievable!

(Quince Paste also known as Membrillo = Yummy!)

(Marcona almonds with salt and rosemary = Double yummy!)

Decorate your wooden cheese board with yummy cheese, some grapes, sliced apple, quince paste, marcona almonds and some yummy wheat crackers... Once again my friends, you are the hostess with the mostess.

But maybe you are doing something smaller, like going over to a girlfriends house to gossip and giggle after you put the kids to bed, (it happens).

Grab a bottle of chilly white wine, a box of these unbelievable crackers from whole foods, made by Back to Nature. With multi grain flax, they are super good for you.

That is of course until you smother them with this U-N-B-E-L-I-V-A-B-L-E goat cheese made by Cypress Grove, it is called Humboldt Fog and trust us it is so good it will remind you of something else really yummy that comes from Humboldt.

Then you drizzle a little honey on top of the cracker and the cheese and voila!

You get a group of gals packing on WAY too many calories for one nights worth of fun. (But it is worth every bite! Just work out the next day... or the next.)

Now, I have not tested this one myself, but word on the streets is that when you put some cheddar cheese on a slice of apple pie.... Magic happens! The kind of magic we just can't wait to taste!

We hope that you have enjoyed this little lesson in cheese, and that you have learned a little something. We love to share our favorite finds with you, and these are some of our favorite food finds.

Enjoy!
